A hair transplant operation implies several steps and a careful planning which begins with a consult and discussion with the surgeon on the expectations and the method employed. Once the planning phase is completed, a hair transplant procedure in our clinic in Turkey will imply the preparation of the donor area, the collection of the hair grafts and the preparation of the recipient area followed by the implantation of the hair grafts.

The preparation of the recipient area, also known as the hairline, for a hair transplant must be attentively considered, as it will represent the last result of the operation. Below, our hair transplant surgeons in Turkey have prepared a guide on the preparation of the recipient area.

How is the recipient area chosen in a hair transplant procedure in Turkey?

The recipient area will be marked by the surgeon during the initial consult with the patient. The doctor will mark the bald area or areas on the head or other parts of the body and will talk the patient through the hair transplant procedure.

Based on the projection of the hair transplant results, the hairline can be re-designed in order for the patient to be pleased by the results.

In our hair transplant clinic in Istanbul, we propose the latest and the most modern solutions which will lead to natural-looking results.

What are the stages for preparing the recipient area?

It should be noted that the hair transplant procedure will be done under local anesthesia, in order for the patient to feel comfortable.

After the recipient area has been marked, the surgeon will follow the next steps in order to ensure the success of the hair transplant:
  1.        in a hair transplant on the head, the doctor will divide the face into equal parts in order to make sure the results are as expected, and the new hairline will fit in naturally with the rest of the hair;
  2.        the doctor will then mark the donor area and the recipient area, followed by the removal of the hair grafts;
  3.        the hair grafts will be collected in order to match with the other hairs near the hairline;
  4.        the doctor will then create incisions in the hairline-to-be and start implanting the grafts.

It will take about 10 days for the first results to appear and the new hairline to be created.
