How to Conceal the Fact That You Have Had a Hair Transplant Image
Hair transplants have become quite popular in the last few years thanks to modern technology and the good results experienced by those who have undergone such procedure in our hair transplant clinic in Turkey.

Even if the new hair restoration methods do not imply too many side effects, it should be kept in mind the fact that it is possible for others to notice some scarring before the actual results of the procedure start showing.

Below, our hair transplant surgeons in Istanbul have prepared some tips on how to conceal the fact of having suffered a hair transplant.

The first days after a hair transplant – the hardest to conceal

A hair transplant implies scarring, swelling, and redness on the recipient area, therefore these are the hardest to conceal. In this case, our hair transplant doctors in Turkey recommend patients to take a few days off. The time off should be between 5 to 10 days, depending on the area where the transplant was made and the side effects of the operation.

The longer hair can also be used to cover the donor and the recipient areas after a hair transplant. It should be noted though, that if the donor area is easier to conceal, it is harder to hide the recipient area.

After a hair transplant, our doctors usually recommend various types of ointments, shampoos, and medication which lead to a faster heal of the recipient area, however, the time off is also on their list of recommendations.

Other tips on how to conceal a hair transplant

Once the critical period of 10 days has passed, our doctors advise patients to follow the next tips in order to conceal a recent hair transplant:
  •           to wash their hair more frequently than before in order to avoid crusting and scabs;
  •           sleeping with the head elevated can also help to reduce the swelling to recipient area;
  •           using various types of concealers when going out should be considered after a hair transplant;
  •           changing the parting of the hair in order to conceal the transplanted grafts is also very helpful.

Some patients can also use loose hats or headpieces which will help them conceal the fact that they have had hair transplants.
